Family Membership<\/strong>\u00a0 (June 19, 2018)
\n<\/em>I have a question about the definition of family membership. Section 4.6.6 (B) of the By-Laws states that a \u201cfamily shall consist of a couple and their dependents, or a single person and their dependents.\u201d However, what happens if one spouse isn\u2019t a Grange member, has passed away or is a single parent raising a family. Is the remaining spouse and dependents not eligible for family membership?

No Recommendation<\/strong> (March 12, 2018)
\n<\/em>This Grange had an open house and a couple of the visitors were interested in the Grange, so they picked up a Grange application. They later submitted the application, without any Granger signing the \u201cRecommended by\u201d section. Since they were not known to any of the Grangers in that Grange the Master tried to find out some background on them and asked around the community to see if they were known to anyone. This couple had just moved into the community within the last few months apparently, and the Grangers knew their address and did find out that the women baked for a Marijuana bakery I guess. The couple seem to have no online presence, but somehow The Grange heard some rumblings that the man may have a history …….., although this was not confirmed by anyone \u2013but one person did say that if he joined he should not have anything to do with the Juniors that attend their Grange. So the upshot was that they did not vote on the application at all.The people showed up at the next meeting, the Master met them at the door and said they would not be voting on the application because these people were not known to anyone in the Grange, and no one had recommended them, but that they were welcome to stay for the meeting.
