For more than a century, the Grange has offered programs for the whole family, local Granges and State Granges.\u00a0 The Grange strives to allow each individual the ability to reach their full potential.\u00a0\u00a0 Grange members often attend cultural and educational forums, political rallies and hearings, and research topics of interest to bring information to their fellow members.\u00a0 Below are programs offered by the National Grange. \u00a0<\/p>\n
New SHIPmates Training Program Focuses on Membership, Leadership Development.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n State and local Granges with a net gain in membership.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n The Grange In Action program is designed to encourage all Granges to be active in their communities and complete events or projects, no matter how small.\u00a0 Any Grange that does not complete the application for Distinguished Grange can participate in this program.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n The National Grange has been driven for over 150 years by the grassroots advocacy of its membership in their communities and states across the country. From rural electrification to rural broadband, all of the National Grange\u2019s legislative accomplishments have begun with grassroots advocacy. With that in mind, the Grassroots Advocacy in Action Award is an annual award given by the National Grange Legislative Affairs Department to an outstanding individual\/local Grange who has made exceptional grassroots advocacy action in the past year.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n This recognition program for Granges who fulfill their service and advocacy missions and provide support for members and their community was launched in 2009. The first Distinguished Granges were honored at the 144th Annual National Grange Convention, with a record number of 51 Community Granges and 9 State Granges honored at the 150th Convention in 2016.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n The Grange Hall of Fame was created in 2015 to recognize Grange members who had a significant role in the history of the National Grange.\u00a0\u00a0In the first two years the selection committee recommended admission of the seven Founders of the Order and Caroline Hall to the Hall of Fame.\u00a0 Beginning in 2017 nominations from Grangers throughout the country are accepted.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n With more than 150 years of legacy, the Grange\u2019s various cornerstone documents have profound lessons to share with members about work, family, home, recreation and more. To make these more accessible and keep them front of mind for members, new and old, the Heirloom Program was developed.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n Since the Grange\u2019s 150th<\/sup>\u00a0birthday, the National Grange started the Grange Legacy Family Recognition program to honor those families whom have five or more generations involved as Grange members.<\/p>\n \u201cWe give recognition to individuals who have been a Grange member for 25, 50, 75, 80, and\u00a0 even 90 years, and we want to recognize families and encourage the next generation to keep up with that and keep that legacy going,\u201d said President Betsy Huber.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n The Grange is proud to support The Dictionary Project through its Word for Thirds program. Through the tireless efforts of the Grange\u2019s network of more than 200,000 volunteers, America\u2019s oldest rural and agriculture organization has presented third-grade students across the nation with more than 500,000 dictionaries.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n For many years the National Grange conducted an active Deaf Awareness Program which led to many valuable projects that enabled our members to learn more about deaf people and their challenges.\u00a0 In many cases, great relationships were also built with the deaf community. A fund was developed within the National Grange Foundation for the purpose of supporting deaf activities within the Grange.\u00a0 Because funds are still available, this grant program is being offered to assist states with funding various deaf awareness activities.\u00a0 Learn More<\/a><\/p>\n The National Grange program\u2019s department is very excited to bring you a new program this year focusing on World War II.
