DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 1<\/span><\/p>\n

The National Grange has been driven for over 150 years by the grassroots advocacy of its membership in their communities and states across the country. From rural electrification to rural broadband, all of the National Grange\u2019s legislative accomplishments have begun with grassroots advocacy. With that in mind, the Grassroots Advocacy in Action Award is an annual award given by the National Grange Legislative Affairs Department to an outstanding individual\/local Grange who has made exceptional grassroots advocacy action in the past year.<\/p>\n

To apply for the award, eligible individuals should submit a minimum one-page written description of their grassroots advocacy action along with at least one photo. For the purposes of the award, eligible applicants include any individual Granger or local Grange. Submissions should be sent to lw*********<\/span>@************<\/span>ge.org<\/span> by September 1st with the subject line of \u201cGrassroots Advocacy Award\u201d.<\/p>\n

Please be sure to include a cover page with your name, Grange, Grange #, and state when you submit your application.<\/p>\n

Examples of the sorts of grassroots advocacy actions we are looking for include hosting events with elected officials (local or national), organizing letter-writing or phone-calling campaigns, or meeting with elected officials in your state capitol. These examples are not an exhaustive list of every possible grassroots advocacy action which you can take and we encourage you to be creative in your advocacy! It is also important to remember when engaging in grassroots advocacy on behalf of the Grange that you should represent Grange values including respect, honesty, and non-partisanship.<\/p>\n
