The Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties\u2019 Pomona Grange celebrates 100 years in community service this Sunday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are not a lot of organizations that make it to 100 years, especially as a county organization, so it\u2019s something special that we are certainly going to celebrate,\u201d said Grange Master Tom Gwin.<\/p>\n
Gwin described the Grange as a bit of a 4-H for adults: Members perform community service with an agricultural focus. On the Washington coast, however, there just isn\u2019t as much agriculture as there used to be, so members have expanded their focus to things such as food banks and raising money for other local charities.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this county, we don\u2019t have a whole lot of agriculture left, so it\u2019s more community development and family activities,\u201d Gwin said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
