Under the proposed legislation, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) would release 500 megahertz of licensed spectrum below 6 GHz and 500 MHz of additional unlicensed spectrum above 5 GHz for auction by 2022, then dedicate 10% of auction proceeds to improving wireless infrastructure in underserved or unserved areas. Spectrum is the invisible airwaves that fuels our communications and drives our economy forward.
