🚜 Ag Term of the Week: Cultivate

To cultivate means to prepare and care for the soil so crops can grow successfully. Cultivation may include loosening the soil, managing weeds, and creating the best conditions for healthy plant growth.
It's all about giving crops the best possible start! 🌱

National Grange President Christine Hamp has released her "Speak Like a 'CHAMP'" phrase for September. We hope Granges and Grange members will use these phrases in to encourage positive teamwork as you Grange.

Impact Partnerships

Impact Partnerships are collaborations intentionally designed to produce measurable, meaningful results for a community or organization. Unlike symbolic or superficial partnerships, impact partnerships are strategic, outcome-focused, and aligned with shared values and goals. They leverage the strengths of each partner - whether civic, nonprofit, agricultural, business, or governmental - to address needs, enhance capacity, and create sustainable change. For the Grange, impact partnerships expand our reach, accelerate progress, and demonstrate the powerful results that come from working together with purpose.

Last week, we unveiled our new "National Grange Guide to Grassroots Advocacy," a practical guide to help Grange members and Granges at all levels advocate for issues affecting rural and small-town communities nationwide.

Whether you're a first-time community advocate or you're a seasoned legislative director, we hope you'll use this guide to enhance your mission to make your area stronger.

September is Hunger Action Month, a nationwide movement to raise awareness about food insecurity and inspire action in our communities.

For more than 150 years, Granges have stepped up to help neighbors in need. Today, through Project Sustenance, Granges across the country continue that tradition by supporting food banks and pantries, growing fresh produce, organizing community meals, stocking Little Free Pantries, and finding creative ways to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food.

Last year, reported that "food insecurity in America has reached its highest rate in over a decade, reaching over 47 million people facing hunger, including 14 million children."

This month, we'll share simple ways you can take action because ending hunger starts with all of us.

💚 Action Challenge: Donate one nonperishable food item this week to your local food bank or pantry. Imagine the impact if every Grange member did the same!

💬 Tell us: How does your Grange help fight hunger in your community?

Find your local food bank and learn how to get involved here: https://www.feedingamerica.org/find-your-local-foodbank
