More than 400 people turned out for the Jacinto Grange’s ham dinner on Saturday.
The 75th annual event was the largest fundraiser of the year for the oldest fraternal organization in Glenn County.
“I come pretty much every year,” said Lee McCorkle of Glenn. “It’s a great event.”
John and Patty Montz of Orland are also longtime guests.
“We’ve been coming for about 40 years,” said Patty Montz. “My parents were Grangers in Orland many years ago.”
The annual dinner also serves to raise awareness of an almost forgotten service organization, which aides farmers and provides community service, organizers said.
“The Grange is an organization that serves to help out the farmer and do community service,” said member Nicholle Evans. “Our goal is to bring the Grange back to the forefront.”
