Grange: High court should hear case that could impact ag

National Grange Executive Committee Member Leroy Watson recently penned an op-ed that appeared in The Hill on Saturday, Oct. 15, in which he argues that the Supreme Court should hear a case involving patent law that could have a great impact on American agriculture.
Watson said in an earlier decision, a federal circuit court’s ruling eroded some of the base standard of “obviousness” in patent law, and by doing so, “lowered standard presents a range of issues for rural entrepreneurs, small businesses, and the agricultural industry in general.”
