Congress Must Act if Rail Labor Negotiations Fail
Rail carriers and rail labor have until September 16 to reach an agreement on compensation to prevent a lockout or strike. Both sides are in National Mediation Board mediation. Should these negotiations fail, the National Grange and thirty food and agriculture groups are asking Congress to intervene to prevent interruptions in rail shipments during the fall harvest season.
