Colton honored for Grange service
The Grange is a way of life for Beverly Colton of Alba.
“It’s like going to church; you get used to going and you just go,” she said.
Now, Colton, 79, has been honored for her long-time service to the Grange.
Recently, Colton, a member of the Minnequa Grange near Alba, was recognized for her 50 years of membership and service to the Grange, Patrons of Husbandry, according to her daughter-in-law Lorelei Colton, who is the Minnequa Grange No. 754 Secretary.
A presentation ceremony was held at her church, First Christian Church of Alba, on March 13, where members of Minnequa Grange No. 754 were present, as well as friends and family.
In addition, state Rep. Matthew Baker was on hand to congratulate Beverly Colton and to present her a citation for her years of dedication from the state House of Representatives. It was signed by Baker, who was the sponsor; Keith R. McCall, Speaker of the House; and Anthony Frank Barbush, Chief Clerk of the House.
