Rome Grange seeking donations for new septic system
BY DEAN KAHN — THE BELLINGHAM HERALD
Rome Grange is seeking community donations to help cover the cost of replacing its old septic system. So far, about $11,000 has been raised for the $50,000 project.
Located at 2821 Mount Baker Highway, the grange has been operating for 105 years. Programs include student scholarships, monthly pancake breakfasts, and use of the hall by Boy Scouts and other community groups.
Donations of all sizes are welcome. People who donate $500 will have a commemorative plaque installed at the hall.
Checks payable to Rome Grange, with a note that it’s for the septic system, should be sent to: Gean Cress, 3013 Henderson Road, Bellingham, WA 98226. Details: 360-592-2705, evenings.
