Having grown through the years, the Grange Hall of Fame is now into two galleries highlighting “Grange Mentors & Distinguished Patrons of Husbandry” and “Community and Society Influencers”. Grange Mentors & Distinguished Patrons of Husbandry comprises Patrons of Husbandry, living and deceased, who have made a significant and sustained contribution to the Grange at the National level. Community and Society Influencers is designed for Patrons of Husbandry, deceased or living, who have made a significant and sustained contribution to American culture and/or society and the impact of which reflects favorable on the Grange.
The Grange Hall of Fame committee strongly suggests that State Grange establish their own Hall of Fame if they have not already done so and they look seriously at their own early history for ideas of prominent members for their inductees. The committee also suggests that Pomona and Community Granges establish their own halls of fame. Working from the ground up, these could supply your State Grange with good suggestions of potential inductees.
Charles M Gardner’s THE GRANGE – Friend of the Farmer is a resource for early Grange history. Additional sources include more recent titles which address the continuing history of the Grange as well as those about the specific history of state Granges. The Grange Hall of Fame committee also is available for advice and counsel.
The deadline for submission of completed nominations is September 1st. Nominations submitted after that date will be considered for the next year.
