National Grange files comments in support of TV white space technology to expand broadband

As America scrambles to reach its unserved and underserved citizens with critical broadband service, the National Grange is petitioning the Federal Communications Commission to approve access to unused TV white space spectrum that would pave the way for mixed-technology hybrid-network broadband deployments.

On Oct. 20, the National Grange along with other coalition members of Connect Americans Now sent to the FCC comments in favor of using unlicensed white space to help expand broadband to especially the most rural and remote areas of the country.

Oregon State Grange was also a co-signer of the letter, which called broadband “one of the essential tools to run n effective farming and ranching operation, open up markets for American products and businesses to compete globally, deliver effective health care services, allow students to reach their full potential and provide veterans the services and opportunities they deserve.”
