State Grange to hold annual meeting

The Wisconsin State Grange, a long-standing rural organization of 141 years, will be holding its annual convention Sept. 26 through 28, at the Voyageur Inn in Reedsburg. “Back to the Future” is the theme.
Duane Scott, of Fort Atkinson, the current president, will conduct the business sessions beginning Thursday at 7 p.m.
Scott says he expects resolutions from local Grange units to be considered will deal with health care, land use issues, highway concerns, etc. Those adopted by the delegate body become the 2013-2014 grass roots policy. He will deliver his annual address at 11:15 a.m. Friday.
The annual banquet will be held Friday at 6 p.m. This year the talent contest entries will be part of the program as well as several speakers and other entertainment according to Nancy Buchanan, Neenah, State Grange program director. She will also be supervising the judging of the many enrichment contests which will be on display. The traditional harvest auction will follow.
