BY DICK PATTEN

State Master James Tetreault will call the 140th annual session of the New Hampshire State Grange to order Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Concord. This is the first time since 1994 the State Grange has returned to the state capital for its annual session.

The State Grange is expected to attract several hundred patrons of the Grange from Pittsburg to Nashua and from North Conway to Winchester for this convention. The session opens Oct. 24 and concludes Oct. 26, following the conclusion of the 60th annual State Grange banquet. Gov. Maggie Hassan, past governor John Lynch, and the commissioner of agriculture are invited guests, as well as representatives from the University of New Hampshire Agriculture Department, Cooperative Extension, and the New Hampshire Farm Bureau.
