The National Grange Issues Statement Regarding Changes to Medicare Part D

Washington, D.C. (May 22, 2018) – The National Grange issued the following statement regarding Reps. Schneider and Kelly’s letter calling for solutions to potentially catastrophic changes to the Medicare Part D program:

“The Medicare Part D is a foundational program for seniors living in rural America. With recent changes to cost-sharing incentives and an out-of-pocket cliff looming in 2020 that could raise seniors’ costs by $1,500, Part D beneficiaries need decisive Congressional action in order to protect their access to lifesaving medications. As access to medical care continues to decline throughout the countryside, Part D becomes even more vital to us. On behalf of all rural Americans, who continue to face barriers to treatment, we urge all representatives to join Reps. Schneider and Kelly in calling for solutions to these pressing issues.”

The National Grange is celebrating 150 years as the nation’s oldest grassroots agriculture, rural advocacy and community service organization with about 2,000 affiliate local, county and state chapters across the United States.
